Michigan Opera House to Host Night of Let It Ride Poker and other games
The Cheboygan Opera House in Cheboygan, Michigan will be hosting a night of gambling this coming Saturday night. The event is called “Chip for the Arts” and will be a millionaire style party with Let It Ride Poker and other gambling games available. Players will be able to participate in Let It Ride Poker, Texas hold’em poker sit and go style, blackjack and double down roulette. The event will last from 7 pm until 11 pm and will raise money for the Opera House.
Along with the gambling party, players can bid on items during a silent auction. The items will have been donated by businesses and individuals from the area. Such items include: overnight stays at the Mackinac Island inns, Opera Tickets to the theatre in Detroit and a two week long condo vacation in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. A raffle will also take place that will offer a four wheeler. Tickets can be purchased at the Opera House.
Pamela Westover, the director of the Opera House and Area Arts Council, stated that the Casino night was established in 2006 after the Opera House lost money due to diminished state funding and a decline in ticket sales. The first fund raiser earned the House almost $10,000 and they hope to earn that again if not more this year.
For this one night the Opera house will be converted to a Vegas style casino with all the glitz and glamour. Let It Ride players can show their skills at the game for only $10 advanced tickets or $15 the night of the event. And if Let It Ride is not your game, you can try your luck at blackjack or Texas hold’em.
